Diana Vreeland: the eye has to travel

I was having dinner with a friend of mine yesterday and she suggested that I should watch Diana Vreeland's movie which is available to download on itunes.

I managed to watch it today,it is a documentary about her life as fashion writer and editor and how she became one of the most influential women of the 20th century, a true icon.

It is marvelous and I am sure you will enjoy it :)

The voice behind

I was shopping for an occasion the other day with my bestfriend and somehow I found myself always wanting to hear a voice behind telling me that the outfit looks great. Of course my bestfriend did. I didn't want to hear one voice though, I wanted to hear many voices. Do you find yourself in the same situation? Isn't it that no matter what you wear, you are the person you are ? The outfit is simply the way others see the outside of you, and therefore no matter what, if you get a chance to speak, you will either overshadow the outfit (if you were interesting) or the outfit will overshadow you. Well, I would like a mix of both :-)

Love at first sight: Liberty window display

Passed by Liberty today whilst shopping with Chaza and Anniebelle, and came across their gorgeous, intriguing and interactive window display. I just love it! Below a couple snapshots.

Nathalie Trad

I knew I need to get hold on one of Nathalie Trad clutches the minute I saw them. Her collection is made of leather handbags, shell & wood clutches and necklaces and is characterized by the geometric structures and contracts in colors and shapes.

Born in Beirut and raised in Dubai, Nathalie Trad graduated rom Paris’ ESMOD International. In 2008, she got a BBA in Design and Management from Parsons The New School for Design in New York and worked with Proenza Schouler for a while . And in 2013 the designer decided to launch her first collection of leather handbags, shell clutches, and statement necklaces. She currently lives in Dubai.

Here are some pictures of her collection - amazing!

Away and reunited, in London!

We have been away for the last few months as we have been busy preparing for Rasha's wedding! Yes, she is married now and more importantly, she has moved to London!!! (To be with me ha!). We will show you some photos below (that's if you haven't seen them yet on Facebook), and by the way the photos are taken by the talented Karen and Josette, www.karenandjosette.com.

We are now sitting together and writing this post in my favourite neighbourhood Notting Hill.

I am so excited to move to London , it has always been one of my favourite cities.
Dima, you know I love trendy and cute places, and now that I don't have a job I have plenty of time to hop from one coffee shop to another and from one museum to the next, so maybe you can give me some tips? :-)

R: What do you love about living in London?
D: I love walking around the city and in the parks. I love the different weekend markets, the diversity of people and the fact there are many museums and exhibitions.
